![]() While using Shadowshot, I was able to get explode kills and Shadowling bats from kills. UPDATE: I have confirmed through play-testing that the passive effects of Poison Burst and Shadowling Ammo WILL affect nonstandard shots. If you hit an enemy with Shadowshot with ranks in Poison Burst/Shadowling Ammo, will poison damage and a chance to explode still apply to the primary shot only, primary shot and shards that come from it, or neither, and is there still a chance slain enemies will become Shadowling bats? I'll try to test this myself when I get another rank, unless anyone has the skills in question, a lot of mana and the time/desire to find out. I am, however, unsure if you'll get passive benefits from a nonstandard attack such as Shadowshot. I've had mobs explode and turn into Shadowling bats. I have both skills and they both work simultaneously. If I'm correct that means this skill will ruin your ability to amass an army. Feel free to try your own variants.DO NOT GET Poison burst: It looks tempting with poison damage but I believe it will not proc your shadowling ammo to spawn minions. Bonus power to pet and minions: Since you have shadowlings on your side, boosting their power is good.Health: This will cover your lack of vitality stats.Health stolen on hit: Health stolen on hit is a must for Outlander’s survival since it lacks defense. Most elemental damage can be obtained by adding embers to socketable weapons. Bonus elemental damage especially poison: All of your elemental damage especially poison complements with Master of the Elements passive skill.Shotgonne: This weapon is your primary concern for this build to work.Tome: Animal Handling - Increase the power of your Shadowlings and Pet.Tome: Marksmanship - Permanently increase the damage of your shotgonne.Spell: Elemental Overload - I basically include this because it complements with Master of the Elements and Venomous Hail.Spell: Haste - The spell makes you quicker to attack and move.Outlanders are agile ranged weapon users who are experts in magical and martial arts. Although poison damage gains twice the benefit, it is good to have multiple elemental damage so that you can deal with different kinds of enemy resistance. The Outlander is one of the four playable classes in Torchlight II. Most shotgonnes are enchanted with different elemental damage so this skill complements the build. Master of the Elements (15 Skill Points): It boost the damage of your powerful Venomous Hail.Your bats will also live for 32.5 seconds. 5 pieces: +5m to Bow, Crossbow, Pistol and Wand range 6 pieces: +20 Ranged Weapon Damage bonus 7 pieces: 203 Health stolen on hit 8 pieces: +18 Attack Speed 9 pieces: 50 chance to Stun target for 2 sec. Death Ritual (15 Skill Points): Maxing this skill will boost the damage of all your Shadowlings and lets your Brute become permanently summoned. 3 pieces: -141 to All Armor per hit 4 pieces: 2320 Physical Damage over 5 sec.The damage scales on player level and with Death Ritual. Leveling up this skill will only boost the spawn chance so it is not advisable to max it. So you can still spawn Shadowling Bats during boss fight. One thing that I like about Torchlight 2 is boss fights also has minions around. Compared to Shadowling Brute the damage is weaker, but the bats move faster, and you can spawn it multiple times. Shadowling Ammo (11 Skill Points): It lets you spawn Shadowling Bats on kill. With Death Ritual at max level, you can always have a summoned Brute around. Your overall damage potential is massively boosted, taking care of all enemies around. Please take note that I will update this article from time to time if there are necessary changes or more builds to add. This article offers different sample builds of the Outlander class for you to customize. Shadowling Brute (15 Skill Points): This summon is the best companion that you can have. Outlander is the proficient range weapon and spell user in Torchlight 2.Grants health recovery, armor boost, and damage reflect to attackers on any allies who pass the pact. Stone Pact (15 Skill Points): This is another great skill that makes Outlander a good team player.4th Earl Ferrers: The Last British Peer to be Hanged in England
